Auto Accident Check List

Being involved in an accident can leave you a little shaken and unable to think clearly. Keep this accident checklist in your glove box just in case.

At The Scene

   Unless the location of the vehicles creates the potential for other accidents, do not move them until instructed by law enforcement to do so.

Note time, location, names, addresses, and phone numbers. Secure information such as:

   Vehicle descriptions

   License plate numbers

   Owner's insurance company

   Passengers' names

   Witness information

   Obtain the name and badge number from the law enforcement official.

   Do not make any statement to anyone but your insurance company and (if required) to law enforcement officials.

   Sketch a diagram of the accident scene, including street locations, directions, and vehicle positions.
