Uninsured Motorist Property Damage (UMP1))

is a coverage that came on the insurance scene in 1995 as a result old' legislation. The purpose of the coverage is to pay for the repair of your vehicle if an uninsured motorist hits you. Previous to the addition of UMPD, the only way you had coverage to repair your car was to carry collision coverage. Forever. many people don't carry collision coverage on older vehicles. Without UMPD, you would still stand to lose the value of your car if hit by an uninsured motorist.
